What I'm focused on at this point in my life.

What is a “now page”?
Most websites have a link that says “about”. It goes to a page that tells you something about the background of a person or business and most just call it an “about page”.
A website with a link that says “now” goes to a page that tells you what this person is focused on at this point in their life.
Here's an overview of what I'm doing now
- Currently in living on San Juan Island, focusing on Life 2.0 🏴☠️, and now I am starting to figure out Life 3.0.
- I spend the day as Senior Vice President of Engineering for NBC Universal.
- I try to write, ruck or walk every day.
- I spend time thinking, learning how to de-stress myself, and how to be a better human.
- I am a humanist technologist. And a pirate.

About Me
Steve Makofsky is currently Senior Vice President of Engineering for NBC Universal. I am an alumnus of Nike (VP Engineering) and The Walt Disney Company (VP Technology) and spent the earlier part of my career growing up at Microsoft, Corp and Yahoo!.
The thoughts and comments on this site/newsletter are my own and in no way represent my employer.
To me, living a well balanced life of experiences, and surrounding yourself with interesting people is what brings diversity of thought. Trying hard things (the things you thought were impossible) and going on fun, crazy adventures is all part of the journey.
Randomness:
- I wrote the books PocketPC Network Programming and Teach Yourself Windows CE Programming in 24 Hours in the early 2000s.
- I have several technology patents.
- I’ve been on Mount Everest. Yes, by choice.
- I’ve completed 9 70.3 Ironman, three marathons, and countless half-marathons.
- I love coffee. You can always buy me some ☕️!
- Oh, did I mention? I loooooove coffee. Did I mention also, that you can always buy me some ☕️! 😄
